Achrei Mos:
Dvar Torah:
The Pasuk says "Bizos Yavo Ahron El Hakodesh", "With this shall Ahron come into the Sanctuary".
One of the most stirring supplications that are part of the Yom Kippur liturgy is the Tefilla of "Unisaneh Tokef", penned by Rav Amnon of Mainz.
In it the congregation cries "U'teshuva, U'Tefillah, U'Tzedakkah, Ma'avirin Es Roah Hagezeira" - "And repentance, and prayer, and charity push away the evil decree." Atop those three words in small letters are the conduits that naturally bring a person to those expressions of Teshuva, "Tzom" ,"Kol" , and "Mamon.", "Fasting", "Voice", and "Money". These three words all equal the Gematria of 136 individually, and when added together equal 408, the exact numerical value of "Zos".
"B'Zos Yavo Ahron El Hakodesh",with this 408, Kol, Tzom, and Mamon, shall Ahron enter the Sanctuary: Only when Klal Yisroel puts in the effort to do Teshuva using these three tools will Ahron be able to enter the Holy of Holies on Yom Kippur with the confidence that Klal Yisroel will have the Kapara that they need.
- adapted from Sefer "V'Kara L'Shabbos Oneg".
Quotes:
“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” - George Eliot
“The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.” - Jimmy Johnson
